Toronto, ON – Pizza Pizza, one of the largest pizza chains in North America, announced
yesterday that, for the first time in the company’s 52 year history, it had hired an
employee of Italian descent.
“Mr. Rossi had excellent references, a good employment history, and flawless pronunciation of the word ‘mozzarella,’” said Ali Khaldun, manager of the location that hired the Italian-Canadian. “Plus I thought it would save time in the training process, since I wouldn’t have to spend the first day explaining what pizza was.” Mr. Rossi said he was “thrilled” to be joining the Pizza Pizza family, although he acknowledged his ultimate goal was to save up enough money to open his own shawarma stand.
