TORONTO – Following a commanding re-election victory by incumbent mayor Olivia Chow, second place candidate Brad Bradford is announcing that he no longer wants to be the next mayor of Toronto
Bradford, a full-time campaigner and part-time city councillor, wasted no time setting the record straight as election returns arrived.
Following the official call of Chow’s win, Bradford immediately rushed in front of the first television camera he could find to declare yet another shift in one of his deeply-held positions, in this case the belief that he ever wanted to be the next mayor of Toronto.
“Everybody knows that I never actually was running to be the mayor of this city, just like how I never supported bike lanes or renaming Yonge-Dundas Square,” asserted Bradford confidently. “All along I have been the strongest supporter of Mayor Chow, and it was my intention for her to remain mayor of this city.”
At press time, Brad Bradford has kicked off his campaign for Toronto mayor in 2030.
