Conservatives explain why Pierre Poilievre attacking 'globalist elites' isn't antisemitic

Pierre Poilievre is refusing to back down from criticism for attacking ‘globalist Davos elites’ in a Conservative fundraising email. Even though the term globalist is a well-known dog whistle used by antisemites like Anne Coulter to describe Jewish people and has been recognized as such by the AJC and the Anti-Defamation League, Conservatives are saying that no, no it’s not. We asked some why.

"I obviously was not talking about Jewish people. I would never engage in such slander and stereotyping. I was simply talking about a large, shadowy cabal of sinister financiers and money lenders who secretly control the global economy."
"Maybe the term is a bit problematic. But Poilievre isn't antisemitic and he didn't mean it in an antisemitic way so it's ok. Like how it's fine for white people who aren't racist to rap the N word parts of rap songs. Right?"
