OTTAWA – After calling President-elect Biden to congratulate him on winning the election, Prime Minister Trudeau is said to be looking forward to Biden bestowing upon him a fun nickname that no one has used in at least 50 years.
“I can’t wait to be in the middle of softwood lumber negotiations and then he turns to me and calls me something I have to google to know what the heck it means,” said Trudeau. “And then I’ll discover it was something him and the other Rascals used to call each other at the Malt Shoppe after they finished their game of stick ball.”
“Donald Trump gave me a nickname once. But it wasn’t old-timey. And it definitely wasn’t fun,” he added.
Betting Markets have already gotten into the action, offering 3-1 odds on Bones, Sidewinder and JT The Knife. Longer odds are also available on ‘Little Gibblets’ ‘Peg Leg’ and ‘His Royal Highness, The Duke of Windsor.’
“Maybe he’ll go with something classic like ‘Red.’ I know I don’t have red hair but that could be part of the joke. Like when they used to call a really fat guy ‘tiny.’ Oh maybe he’ll call me Tiny!
Cabinet Members are also bracing for their own nicknames, including Chrystia ‘Legs’ Freeland and Harjit ‘Babyface’ Sajjan.
At press time Biden had started calling Trudeau Pierre, although that was less of a nickname and more about confusion over which Trudeau he was talking to.
