Demonic dog baring teeth and growling just happy to see you, says owner

ARNPRIOR, ON – Local residents expressing concern over the behaviour of an aggressive dog were reassured by its owner that he is actually quite friendly and loves people. Residents walking the paths of the Gillies Grove Nature Reserve reported encounters with a large dog that left them feeling shaken.

“I was walking through the woods when suddenly this dog lunged toward me, showing his teeth,” says Bryan Sampson, 34, of Arnprior. “He came at me so fast, it looked like he was going to pull his owner’s arm off. I normally love dogs but this thing was more like some kind of furry, muscular, behemoth. I mean, it was huge.”

The dog’s owner Alex Boswell says this is typical behaviour of his dog.

“Oh, Garmr loves people. I always say they can pet him if they like,” says Boswell, who named the dog after the figure from Norse mythology, often associated with Ragnarok. “But I guess some people are shy so they walk away and then I have to tell them not to run or Garmr will think they’re food.”

Garmr is described as a mixed breed German Shepherd, Husky, Pitbull, and other, undetermined breeds, which his veterinarian described as, “not genetically possible.”

Boswell says his dog was a rescue found in an undeveloped section of a local mine, known in the local folklore as, ‘Hell’s Mouth.’

Since then, Boswell and Garmr have been a fixture at the Nature Reserve as the dog is frequently seen off leash, an activity his owner claims is harmless.

“If you’re nervous about the dog running around, just offer him a dog biscuit. Just make sure you pull your hand away or he won’t stop at the biscuit and you lose the use of that arm. Typical dog.”

When reached for comment, the Town of Arnprior issued this statement:

“To bring compromise to this situation, and after deep discussions with the representatives of the world’s religions, we propose dedicating a section of the park for any Eldritch creatures our citizens enjoy. The rest of the park will be restricted to dogs of this world. The Eldritch section will be an exclusive experience for demon-dogs, devil-dogs, werewolves, and any other abominations of nature found on Facebook Marketplace.”
