CALGARY – NDP staffers gathered around the newly elected Alberta NDP premiere Rachel Notley to celebrate her momentous underdog victory by pouring a barrel of fine crude over her head.
“We fought long and we fought hard, but I think it was our promise of not being the Progressive Conservatives that really won voters over. That and giving 110%,” said the premier-elect to a reporter, right as excited campaign workers snuck up behind her and poured a barrel of bitumen over her head in celebration.
“Ah, we have fun,” said the premier-elect before her voice was completely muffled by the slurping ooze. “You know, this stuff is actually cheaper than Gatorade right now.”
Supporters were unable to separate themselves from the victorious leader, mostly due to the fact that they were unable to pull apart their hands after attempting a high five.
Conservative politicians were also seen covered in crude oil, but this is known to be a common occurrence.
