CALGARY – Criticism is brewing over the baffling choice to invite a right-wing demagogue and prominent anti-vaxxer to meet with Tucker Carlson.
“I’m all for free speech,” said Alberta native Patrick Wells. “But when you willingly associate with someone whose only claim to fame is saying as many controversial things as possible in order to gain attention for their news program, you’ve gone too far.”
“I don’t know why Tucker would risk his credibility by meeting with someone so polarizing.”
Many observers have pointed out that appearing in public with someone who is seen as pro-tobacco, anti-LGBTQ and has made so many hurtful comments they have an entire wikipedia section dedicated to “controversies” could cost Carlson his prominent job as guy who hosts a “tv show” on X, formerly known as Twitter.
“Maybe Tucker can at least show her how to disagree with someone without calling them Nazis all the time,” said Wells.
However Carlson has refused to cancel his appearance with Smith, and advised that “even though he disagrees with some of her inflammatory remarks, Tucker looks forward to finding shared ground over their mutual interest in invading Canada.”
