Introducing iCared, an app that will write your heartfelt celebrity death posts for you

PALO ALTO, CA – In response to a busy year of celebrity deaths, has announced the release of iCared, an app that allows users to instantly share unique, personal remembrances the moment a celebrity dies.

“So many famous people are dying these days, and it takes a lot of time to write up a post about how much you’re hurting and how much they meant to you,” said Michael Eckels, Google spokesperson. “iCared takes all the work out of ostentatious social media grieving.”

When news breaks that a celebrity has died, the app automatically drafts a unique, personal tribute based off of information on Wikipedia, easily accessible videos uploaded to Youtube, and a search of Brainyquotes.com. That tribute is then immediately posted to all of your social media accounts.

was my everything,” read a sample text generated for the app’s release. “Born on July 8, 1958 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Wife: . inspired me to introduce rock and roll to a mistrustful small town. RIP”.

Early tests of the app show that it posts seven times faster than a manual mourner would. “In those crucial minutes after a celebrity’s death is announced, speed is everything. With iCared you can have a profound, touching post up before you even knew they were gone.”
