OTTAWA – The Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency revealed today new job numbers indicating that the Agency has been responsible for rapid job growth in the isolated region of downtown Ottawa.
Since its creation in 2009, 35 percent of CanNor’s employees have been working in this secluded area between Bank and Kent Streets which is only accessible by car, public transit, bike or walking.
“I’m proud to see so many benefit from the jobs we have for Northerners” said Minister Leona Aglukkaq. “We have seen these jobs spur on other sustainable development in the coffee shop, restaurant and bar industries.”
According to sources, CanNor workers were studying the viability of opening a new office located in the frigid and isolated region called Winnipeg.
