Premier Ford breaks ground on new FanDuel Toronto Primary School

TORONTO, ON – Ontario Premier Doug Ford was on hand as he and other school administrators broke ground on the new FanDuel Toronto Primary School for students in Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 in the Sugar Wharf community. Named after the sponsor and primary funder of the school, “FanDuel Primary”, as it has come to be known, will provide state-of-the-art facilities featuring twenty classrooms, two gymnasiums, an extensive playground, and a screen wall showing highlights from all of the previous night’s games.

“Education is one of the core values of this government and by partnering with one of Canada’s premier online sports gambling companies, we can provide world-class facilities like FanDuel Primary without burdening the taxpayer with additional expenses. In fact, this school is projected to bring in thousands in tax dollars each year thanks to the $25 Bonus Bet program for teachers, staff, and parents,” said Premier Ford.

Renderings by FanDuel’s architects show young students entering the building being greeted by murals of famous parlays and spreads covered throughout Canadian sporting history. Math classes will also be provided with new textbooks called “Moneyline!” that explains betting odds. Additionally, recess will be live-streamed on their platform and betting will be available on all games of Four Square or British Bulldog.

President of Client Development at FanDuel, Heather Milley said, “As one of the few industries with any money left, we here at FanDuel are so glad to give back. My own daughter will be attending this very school and I know she’s excited to meet Props the Eagle, the new school mascot. And to Premier Doug Ford, I’ll be seeing you at my brother’s wedding fundraiser next week!”

The Ontario Department of Education and FanDuel announced that this was just the first of many such partnerships as they hope to extend the relationship to universities, adult education,  and addiction programs.
