THE INTERNET – No one supports women’s rights more than I do, but even the best ideas can be taken too far, and my lived experience from two hours ago is the definitive proof: A woman was mean to me on the internet.
The feminist movement has brought the world many wonderful things. Women have the right to vote, the right to an education, and the right to make some decisions about their own bodies. I believe women’s rights are human rights, because that seems to be what people say these days. But where do we draw the line?
Personally, I think we should draw the line at being mean to me because I don’t like it.
I’m a really smart guy, and people really respect me. I am rich, which is proof that I am smart and cool. I am also funny. So why would a woman be mean to me? The only explanation I can think of is feminism.
Let me explain. There I was, just minding my own business and scrolling through the social media website that I own. Sometimes when I see a funny joke, I reply with an LOL. Sometimes that funny joke is written by a woman (I am not sexist).
But what I saw today was NOT a funny joke. It was a mean joke, at MY expense. And the person who wrote it was a woman.
Just to be clear, I am not upset. The joke was totally inaccurate so it did not offend me. All I am saying is that when you are handsome and smart and own a really cool car company, then women should respect you, right?
I don’t mean to blame all women, because not all women are like my girlfriend who left me or my daughter who hates me. But the person who was mean to me was a woman, or at least she looked like a woman in her display picture, instead of a man or a statue or a character from Rick and Morty. That’s no coincidence.
Again, I do not hate women. I even call myself a feminist when it is convenient to do. But I’m starting to question if things have gone too far. After all, what’s the point of being a male feminist if women still don’t like me?
