MONTREAL – Psychologists at McGill University revealed this week that half of the bands coming to this year’s Osheaga Festival are so indie they haven’t even heard of themselves.
The festival is set to draw 127,000 Ray Ban-wearing tourists to Montreal, some of whom will be surprised to discover that they are performing.
“I came to see the headliners like Ellie Goulding, Mumford & Sons, and Kendrick Lamar. Next thing I knew, I was the drummer for some band called Ponctuation,” said Wulff Gang, who is the drummer for Ponctuation.
The study revealed that Wulff’s predicament isn’t uncommon. “Last year, a guitarist showed up thinking he was playing in Zombie Disco Squad only to find out he was actually playing keyboards in Buraka Som Sistema”
