TORONTO – As part of the annual pop culture spectacle Fan Expo Canada, Rob ‘The Mayor’ Ford today defeated former WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan in an arm-wrestling bout.
Despite today’s defeat, amid continued allegations of drug use and the emergence of various reputation-harming videos, he retains a loyal and vocal fanbase, thanks to reliance on simple and populist catch-phrases and reality-defying refusal to accept defeat. Rob Ford also retains a large and vocal followers for reasons beyond human understanding.
“He is my all-time favourite,” said Tim Jones, “He really doesn’t care what anyone else thinks, he just does it for the fans. I’ve never known a fighter like him. Hulk Hogan is great too, his muscles are so big!”
Immediately after his victory, The Toronto Star had already published accusations that the event was rigged.
