MEDICINE HAT, AB – A 5-year old trans girl has been told not to dress as a girl in public by a male judge wearing a gown.
Judge Martin Cromwell, who oversaw the custody case in family court, smoothed down the satin sash accessorizing his flowing gabardine robe, and adjusted his elaborate cuffs before addressing the court.
“I understand that the divorcing parents disagree about the child’s gender identity,” said the judge, as he smoothed out his long flowing robes. “But as a judge, It is my sworn duty to decide what the nation’s children should wear.”
The child’s mother has said she will fight this decision, even if she needs to take it all the way to the Supreme Court, where the judges wear red velvet Mrs. Claus dresses.
