CANADA – Millions of Canadians who opened their fridge today looking for the margarine were unsure if the round container they found enclosed actual margarine or leftovers from past meals.
“Now, is this the margarine or last week’s spaghetti” said Adrian McCarthy of Antigonish about one of the several 454 g plastic Becel Margarine containers stating inside his fridge. “Shit, I hope it’s not the stir fry that I had a month ago. Oh man, I don’t want to open this.”
Other Canadians, such as Annie Levesque of Dryden, spent countless minutes guessing if the Cool Whip container held the sweet whipped cream as advertised or a decomposing, grey-green meat loaf from several months ago.
“I just can’t open it, the pressure is too much” explained a traumatized Levesque before tossing the container back on the fridge’s second shelf where it will remain permanently.
At press time, Canadians were refusing to spend an extra $5 on transparent plastic containers.
