BROSSARD, QC – With preseason hockey in full swing Montreal Canadiens defenseman Andrei Markov is excited to find out what injury will sideline him for the majority of the season this year.
“I have had many leg injuries, but I would like something different,” Markov stated after practice.
Markov, 34, has been with the club for 13 seasons and has been healthy enough to play in two of them.
“I don’t think I’d like a concussion, those can have really long impacts. Maybe a small bicep tear, that’d be interesting.”
Markov’s only worry is getting injured before the Olympics which would eliminate his chances to get injured in front of a home team crowd.
“In the best case scenario, I’d have a shoulder problem until the games, be fit for the Olympics, and then hurt again after, with a bicep tear. That would be a great season.”
