LONDON – On the heels of her decisive victory in Thursday’s Wimbledon semifinals, Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard now finds herself only one win away from never having to answer questions about whom she’d like to date ever again.
Bouchard’s road to Saturday’s Final against Czech sensation Petra Kvitova has not been easy, with the tournament’s 13th seed having to face increasingly difficult questions from journalists on a variety of hard-hitting topics, including her dream outfit, which qualities make the perfect boyfriend, and of course, her favorite romantic comedy.
“I’m trying not to think too much about it, to be honest,” admits the Westmount, Quebec native. “I mean, obviously, as a female athlete, you spend your whole life training and practicing hard in the hope of someday being asked a question that isn’t related to your wardrobe choices or celebrity crushes, but until it actually happens, it’s hard to think of it as more than a fantasy.”
Speaking of fantasies, the prospect of a Bouchard victory this Saturday has many people in the tennis world wondering which super hunk she’d most want to be stranded on a desert island with.
Bouchard says that while she isn’t sure, she’s probably leaning toward, “Go fuck yourselves.”
