OTTAWA – Local woman Marlene Kovach has decided to wait to return all her calls until she can do so in the middle of a bus full of other people.
“Sure I could call my mom when I get home,” said Kovach. “But it’s way more time efficient to do it in a place where dozens of people are forced to listen to one half of a conversation.”
“Why would you want to read a book when you can listen to my booming voice talk to my doctor’s office about my upcoming pap smear?”
Kovach has apparently no concerns that the people around her might want to travel home in peace at the end of a long day, because they are simply NPCs who will cease to exist when she gets off at her stop.
“Ever since COVID people on public transport have forgotten how to behave. They just think they can do whatever they want and no one will stand up to them,” said fellow traveller Martin DiGeorgio before turning his music on full blast through his bluetooth speaker.
At press time Kovach’s wireless headphones had died so she decided to make the last call using her phone’s speaker.
