OTTAWA – Conservative MPs were on the offensive today blaming a tweet made by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau that welcomed illegal forests fire crossing into Canada.
While the opposition could not identify the ‘welcome wildland fire’ tweet in question, they warned of the powers of the Prime Minister’s mystical Twitter account that commanded thousands of people to make perilous border crossings into Canada, which had nothing to do with US President Donald Trump’s bigotry-based immigration policies.
“The Prime Minister has not made it clear that he does not support illegal lightning strikes and forest fires from crossing the border into Canada,” said Conservative immigration critic Michelle Rempel from her Twitter. “With the knowledge of the Prime Minister’s tweet, clouds of vertical development are crossing into Canadian airspace and discharging foreign static electricity onto tinder-dry forests. This is a crisis.”
The Tories have made a call for an emergency committee meeting on Trudeau’s pro-wildland fire policies and are expected to grill Liberal cabinet ministers and a confused Environment Canada meteorologist.
