Georges Laraque: ‘I have to go out there and play a solid by-election’

MONTREAL – After announcing his run for federal public office, former NHL tough guy George Laraque is hoping his long hours of practice and hard work will pay off in the Montreal by-election for Bourassa.

“I have to just go out there and play a solid by-election” a sweaty Laraque said at the intermission of a public policy debate. “There are a lot of good candidates here and they will not give me any gifts. I’m good at passing our environmental policy and forechecking on railway safety. We’re not going to let the Liberals or NDP intimidate us.

“If we score more votes than any other team, then we’ll win.” Laraque added before pouring water into his mouth and spitting it out.

During the second period of the debate, Laraque was penalized for 10 minutes of silence during the debate after threatening the Conservative candidate to take things outside to deal with Senate reform.
