EDMONTON – Expressing their contempt for what they call “football-hating social justice warriors,” Edmonton Eskimos management have added a Confederate flag to their logo.
Management explained the rebel flag represents the team’s stalwart stand against those who think Indigenous culture is more than a novelty item.
“Don’t like that either?” asked the team’s research and engagement program leader Larry Gurch to members of the media. “Well, fuck you then. We’ll add a swastika too.”
Edmonton’s team claimed the club’s name or new symbol of slavery and systematic racism was not offensive after reaching out to diverse members of the corporate sponsor community.
“You can’t erase the Edmonton Eskimos proud history of settler colonialism and its proud present of settler colonialism,” added Gurch.
