$2 pizza served at transit station probably fine

– Commuters travelling through the Bloor-Yonge subway station in Toronto have been given the opportunity to buy for $2 a slice from a folding table, and on the whole decided that that’s probably fine.

“Check out, cheap pizza!” said pediatrician James Soo while transferring from the Bloor-Danforth line onto the Yonge-University line. “That looks OK to me!” Despite 9 years of medical training, Soo then bought a piece and ate it surrounded by subway passengers all suffering varying stages of the common cold.

Adelia Green, who also bought pizza from the box that has been open for an indeterminate amount of time, said of her purchase: “It’s definitely not hot. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly room temperature, but I am having difficulty telling where the pizza ends and the air in the subway begins.”

“But there was a sign with the word ‘’ sharpied on it, so at least my money is going to a good cause.”

Some commuters questioned the advisability of serving in a location that sees up to 400000 people a day, but the employees who hand out the pizza have assured commenters that their latex gloves only brush against a small percentage of customers when they pass over the pizza. Furthermore, the pizza is protected from possible bacterial contact by napkins that look like paper towel.

When reached for comment, a spokesperson said “Who’s selling our pizza on the subway? Gross.”
