‘Recognizing fascism is the first step to combating fascism’ says man doing none of the other steps

HOUSTON – “Recognizing is the first step to combating fascism”, reads the latest Facebook post from local man Jeremy Sanders, who has yet to follow up with any of the other steps.

“This country is run by white nationalists who are building concentrations camps on military bases for non-white, LEGAL asylum seekers. When you see how utterly immoral and depraved this is, all you can do is stand up and say ‘this is fascism’” continued Sanders’ post, “Really! ’s the only thing!”

Friends and family say they have yet to witness Sanders do any other, arguably more effective, steps. “I invited him to a protest, but he said he wanted to go see Spider-Man: Far From Home again,” said college friend Emily Sharp. “Then, I sent him some links to donate to organizations that provide legal defence for trans youth, but it doesn’t look like he’s opened the message yet”.

“I literally opened up a petition on his laptop to provide adequate medical care at detention centres,” said Sanders’ brother Lee, “He told me he’d do it later, then opened a new tab so he could post that ‘First they came for the socialists’ poem again”.

Sanders has also pointed out numerous times that the Republican ’s rampant voter suppression is “Fascism with a capital F”, in spite of the fact that he did not bother to vote in the midterms, and has no plans to vote in the Democratic Primaries.

Meanwhile, Gabrielle Sanders, a cousin from Canada, is pretty sure it could never happen here.
