OTTAWA – NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh claimed that he has always never maybe supported fracking and the BC LNG pipeline.
“We have always never not not not not not,” he said, before pausing and quickly counting on his finger, “not not supported LNG. Canadians have admired the NDP’s non-opposition in our qualified backing for and against the process of constructing a pipeline from Dawson’s Creek to Kitimat. Our stance has always been an unequivocal [undecipherable mumbling].”
Just a month ago, Singh said he supported the LNG pipeline including its consultation with First Nations and environmental assessments, but clarified that the media failed to pick up on the words that he wasn’t saying.
The leader of the third party highlighted how he has always been an environmentalist but even more of an environmentalist since his party lost a by-election last week.
“Our climate change and pipeline policy has been made clear in my body language and tie-colour,” added Singh. “Canada needs to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions faster than left-leaning voters ditch our party for the Greens or Liberals.”
