OTTAWA – Drawing on past experience to maintain order in the House of Commons, Prime Minister Trudeau has sent a heckling MP to the Governor General’s office.
“Okay, that’s strike three,” said Trudeau to Mark Strahl, the MP for Chilliwack-Hope. “I don’t want to hear it, Mark. You can tell it to Mr. Johnston.”
Despite Strahl’s protests that he ‘didn’t even say anything’, and that ‘this is bullshit’, Trudeau remains firm, and says that next time, it’ll be a phone call to his parents.
“Oooooh, Mark got in trooooouble,” said Stephen Blaney (Bellechasse-Les Etchemins-Lévis), before being asked by the Prime Minister if he ‘would like to join Mr. Strahl’. “No sir, I’m sorry sir. I’ve learned my lesson.”
Although Strahl dragged his feet down the street to Rideau Hall, sources on his staff say the Governor General is ‘pretty lenient’.
“Mark’s a good kid, he just acts out because he comes from a bad family situation,” said David Johnston. “Sad to say, but his dad’s a former Conservative MP.”
This is the first time Strahl has been sent to the office since carving the Stussy ‘S’ into his desk.
