SOCHI, RUSSIA – The Canadian women’s hockey team captured gold in a stunning overtime win over the Americans and promptly apologized for the comeback victory.
“We’re real sorry we came back to beat you guys, eh?” said Marie-Philip Poulin, the player who scored the game winner during a power play. “Sorry about all those goals after you were winning. Let’s change the subject. Brutal winter, eh?”
After a polite celebration in which the Canadian players offered the American players some celebratory maple candies, the team mounted their dog sleds and began the journey back to Canada.
