MONTREAL — Habs enforcer George Parros was released from hospital yesterday after his mustache failed to break his fall during a third period brawl with the Leafs’ Colton Orr.
“I spent a lot of time this offseason on the mustache. Lots of time grooming and maintaining this bush for just such an occasion,” said a groggy Parros. “It is not just a soup strainer, it for protection too. It just failed to deploy and I was knocked out.”
There has been lots of speculation as to whether there would be a rematch between the Montreal Canadien’s tough guy and the Bell Centre’s ice surface, but Parros wasn’t tipping his hand.
“In retrospect, a beard would have been more practical.”
