CALGARY – Margaret Walsh, a secretary at an HR firm solidified her friendship with co-worker, Linda Desroches, last Friday through their mutual contempt for another colleague.
“I always liked Linda, but until Friday, I had no idea we had so much in common,” said Walsh. “We were waiting for the elevator when our new boss Cathy waltzed up and reached her arm right across both of us to press the elevator button. Linda and I immediately looked at each other like ‘excuse me?’ and ‘I know, right?’ and that was it. We’ve been inseparable ever since.”
The women spend long lunch breaks together discussing the various shortcomings of Cathy such as, ‘when she uses up all the communal Kleenex,’ to ‘when her lunches smell weird and then the whole lunchroom smells weird after she leaves.’
Cathy stated that she is aware the women have bonded over their mutual hatred of her, but says she does not feel left out as she has bonded with another co-worker, Donna Sanders, over that one time when Margaret threw chewing gum into a garbage can with no bag.
