PICKERING, ON – Suburban citizen Jake Laysley tells everyone he meets that he lives downtown, despite the 1.5-hour driving commute it takes him to arrive in Toronto from his house in Pickering.
“It’s unbearable how he refers to himself as a downtowner,” said suburban friend Eric Walton. “He always makes fun of me because it takes me four buses to get downtown, and it only takes him three and a subway.”
Laysley is also known to tell friends in other cities that if they ever are visiting Toronto, they can crash at his place.
