TORONTO – In what she is calling ‘the opportunity of a lifetime’, local actor Cassidy Ambrose has been asked to play the role of an employee who has twice as much responsibility, and makes an extra 30 cents an hour.
“This job could open so many doors for me,” said a teary-eyed Ambrose, who works just few enough hours not to have benefits at the Toronto cafe, Crema-torium. “It makes me so emotional to see my work finally paying off.”
Ambrose has reported that her extra wages will go into new headshots, demo reels, and wardrobe, and to help her transition from horrible debt to merely crippling debt.
At press time, Ambrose still couldn’t afford to see the dentist, since her agent was taking 15% of her wages in commission.
