OTTAWA — With Governor General David Johnston by his side at Rideau Hall, Prime Minister Stephen Harper has officially informed the Canadian public that advertisements for the election will continue to be broadcast across the nation.
“Since May 2011, we have ensured that for every waking hour, Canadians were reminded about how great this government is and how awful the alternative is,” Harper announced this morning. “And we will continue to do so by TV, radio, literature, giant novelty cheques, roadway signage, Internet and Pierre Poilievre tramp stamp that says ‘Stand Up for Canada.’”
The ads, however, may appear to be a bit different than the usual ‘Canada’s Economic Action Plan’ or Health Canada’s anti-marijuana commercials. But Harper stated that the messaging will be much the same to avoid confusion.
According to sources, many Canadians are opting for a frontal lobotomy rather than endure a 77 day federal election campaign.
