MONTREAL — Habs fans across social media erupted into cheers after the Montreal Canadiens signed a 8 year, $72 million deal with their favorite scapegoat, P.K. Subban.
“Bergevin could not do it to the fans,” said superfan Jean Marion. “Nothing unites Montreal quite like complaining about the mistakes and immaturity of a young defenseman.”
Fans report Subban will be able to carry the weight of being doormat that was once so wonderfully carried out by Scott Gomez.
Canadiens coach Michel Therrien has also released a statement saying that he considers it an honour to be able to bench and limit the minutes of one of the highest paid players in the league.
“I’m really excited to see Subban play for the Habs for such a long time,” said Gilles Lemay, chief blogger for the site Rhonda’s Rondelle. “And then blame him for when things go wrong such as missing the Cup Finals and taking up too much cap space. I’ll have a lot of creative space to blame him for everything that’s wrong.”
At press time, Habs fans were already blaming Subban for a sloppy signature on the contracts he just signed.
