OTTAWA – Minister of Employment Jason Kenney has had enough of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals long history of remaining silent on Israeli-Palestinian affairs.
“Listen, I don’t know how we could have made it any clearer, if you don’t have a pro-Israel, pro-our-government-foreign-policy stance on anything then you should expect to lose your funding,” explained Kenney. “And the SPCA is just one of far too many NGOs in this country that takes a softie approach to mid-east politics and this administration will not stand for that kind of anti-Semitism.”
The SPCA joins organizations such as Kairos and OXFAM who have come under Kenney’s vigilant racism radar for vitriol and threat of budget cuts.
“The SPCA has never once released a statement even mentioning their support of Israel,” Kenney pointed out to reporters. “It’s always there are too many stray dogs, animal abuse this, spay your cats that. Leave that to Bob Barker and show some respect for Canada’s best friend and ally if you want funding.”
The news has perplexed and troubled the SPCA.
“It is SPCA policy to remain politically neutered when considering international affairs,” stated SPCA CEO Kate MacDonald. “Unless a cocker spaniel gets caught in the crossfire we’ll be as quiet as a dog whistle.”
At press time, Minister Kenney was seen tweeting about how the YMCA has not done enough to pressure Obama to accept the Keystone pipeline.
