OTTAWA – As Attawapiskat Chief Theresa Spence’s hunger strike continues to provoke calls for immediate action by the Government of Canada, Conservative staffers were quick to point out that progress was being made on the issue. Namely, Aboriginal Affairs Minister John Duncan is now fully aware that he is minister for Aboriginals.
“I’m glad to announce that I am the minister of this department for Aboriginals; whatever that does and whoever those people are,” Duncan said at an impromptu press conference held in front of an office staffers assured him was his.
“After two years working hard at a job that I thought had something to do with national parks, I can reassure Canadians that I work for the Affairs of Aboriginals. I look forward to meeting an Aboriginal and/or Aboriginelle in the near future.”
At press time, Duncan was overheard talking about the Idle No More Movement to his political team, stating that he felt bad for the minister that “had to deal with that shit sandwich.”
