Ford warns OSAP students not to pick ‘basket-weaving courses’, pick ‘inherit trust fund’ courses instead

QUEEN’S PARK – In the wake of cuts to higher education loans, Premier has encouraged students “not to pick basket-weaving courses”, and instead to follow his example and enrol in the far more lucrative “be born a trust fund millionaire” program.

With the end of Ontario’s 8-year freeze, plus a significant reduction to how much grant money students can receive, Ford encouraged students to choose high-return fields of study, like “having a wealthy father”.

“Folks, it’s simple, in today’s economy courses like basket weaving are a waste of money, unlike ‘Massive Inheritance 101’, which is recession-proof,” Ford explained at a press conference outside Deco Labels and Tags, the company founded by Doug Ford Sr. with annual sales of approximately $100 million per year.

Ford went on to outline additional courses that Ontario students could choose to stretch the value of their OSAP, including “Coasting On Your Father’s Political Connections For Beginners”, “Advanced Stealing From Your Dead Brother’s Widow”, and the “Northern Etobicoke Hash Selling Co-Op Program”.

“Pull yourselves up from your own bootstraps, like I did,” Ford added before ending the press conference, as he was late for a snowmobiling vacation at his ’s Muskoka cottage.
