TTC announces subway closure due to ‘not feeling it today’

– This week the announced via social media that all subway lines will be closed today due to subway workers ‘just not feeling it.’

The statement written by TTC CEO Mandeep Lali explained the closure, citing how closing all service on Line 1, 2, and 4 was the best way to help subway workers decompress and get away from all the ‘cringy stuff happening at work.’

“I’ll have train operators and customer service agents come up to me and say stuff like ‘I’m not having it,’ ‘vibes are bad,’ or ‘I just need a moment to myself, man’,” wrote Lali. “And I was like, “It’s all good. Take the day off. Treat yourself. Take a nice bubble bath. Smoke a joint… anything you need to do to get yourself in a good state of mind.’”

Lali’s post continued, telling commuters how, “We’ve got some shuttle buses running, in groups of four, to help y’all get where you need to go. After all, we’re not evil. We’re just the TTC’.

While portions of the subway have closed in the past due to accidents, security threats, fires or floods, reports show commuters are ‘utterly pissed’ by this subway closure. Many have asked, ‘how in the hell am I going to get to work?’ or ‘why couldn’t they just close Line 4? Nobody uses that line.’

“I agree TTC workers go through a lot and deserve more time to get some R&R, but I’m going to be late for work, and I haven’t seen a single bus,” said one neurosurgeon who was seriously considering biking to the .

While fleets of shuttle buses took to the street to help commuters, many are still waiting to be picked up, with early signs suggesting that buses fill up quickly and that all the construction in the city is forcing the buses to go off route.

Asked if the TTC regretted this decision, Lali said he did not, even suggesting that if some workers needed another day, he would totally give it to them “just as long as they come back well rested and ready to serve commuters.”

Upon hearing this, Premier immediately called Prime Minister and asked him if he could order all TTC subway employees back to work immediately.
