Right whales disguised as adorable seal pups to raise awareness about pending extinction

ST. JOHN’S – A group of environmentalists are disguising all – dead and alive – as adorable harp in an attempt to gain international attention to the plight of the endangered species.

The bright white costumes, which are 16m in length and feature a cute button-nose, were placed on as many right as the environmentalists could find in the Atlantic ocean.

“The right whale may be going extinct, but its appearance was really holding back from gaining celebrity attention,” said Bjorn Rondacks, a marine biologist from Save The Right Whales. “So we had to make these 200,000 Ibs baleen whales with sea lice look more like helpless 50 lbs seals that are about to be clubbed by a half-drunk sealer.

“Nothing melts the heart of a half-wit better than the adorable, pure black eyes of a harp seal pup,” added Rondacks.

The group hopes the whales’ new tug-at-your-heartstrings image will convince organizations such as the European Union to take action toward preserving the habitat such as restricting offshore drilling or slowing the speed of large ships to prevent the species from being struck.

The effects of the whale’s new appearance was felt immediately on and antagonized many of the stars to respond.

“So cruel!” tweeted Pamela Anderson about a beached right whale in its new disguise. “These giant baby are getting caught in fishermen’s traps and dying alone! #EndTheSenselessSlaughter.”

According to sources, Paul McCartney and Heather Mills planned on visiting Newfoundland to pose with a beached carcass.
