OTTAWA – Conservative leadership hopeful Kellie Leitch has released a campaign video demonstrating that she has her finger on the pulse of traditional Canadian culture and it’s terrible acting, makeup and lighting.
“From what I’ve learned engaging with comment sections across the country is that real Canadians identify themselves by shitting on their TV industry’s horrible production values,” said the Simcoe-Grey MP. “This homage to old stock Canadian shows solidifies my status as the Train 48 of the Canadian political landscape.”
While many took to social media to blast the video, fellow Conservatives praised its floating camera movements, avant-garde editing, and frequent long pauses to read off far away cue cards, which they said provided the perfect distraction from Leitch’s horrifically xenophobic message.
“Only urban elitists support the high quality, well executed, inclusive messaging of an Orphan Black, or a Justin Trudeau ad,” said campaign staffer Jordan Smith. “And they certainly reject the insidious foreign influence of a high-budget international co-production like a Vikings, or a Jagmeet Singh.”
Leitch’s campaign team insists she will keep on standing up and sitting down awkwardly for real Canadians, and their right to denigrate immigrants with the kind of robotic delivery that would get one laughed out of a Tim Horton’s ad audition.
