Name: This Tub of Margarine
Background:
Born and produced by a hard working Canadian industry, The Tub claims it has never backed down from a challenge. The Tub is best known for successfully lobbying against a discriminatory law in Quebec which prohibited margarine from being tinted yellow so it resembles butter. In 2015, it ran as a Conservative candidate in a downtown Toronto riding receiving 0.3% of the vote, the most a Tory inanimate object has ever received. The candidate isn’t without controversy; the Tub was forced to apologize after making a anti-butter slur against a Toronto City Councillor. Questions were also raised about its Omega-3 acid claims and political donations from Unilever. Among Conservative Party members, the Tub was rated as the most charismatic among all leadership candidates and is labelled in both official languages.
