LOS ANGELES — Rick Springfield was arrested this week for violating the terms of a restraining order against the woman known only as ‘Jessie’s Girl.’
Few knew the 1980s rock anthem was based on a stalking incident between Springfield and a Santa Fe woman, which is now a staple of every DJ set around 12:45am that plays retro tunes.
A statement released by Springfield’s attorney stated “Rick always said that Jessie’s got himself a girl and he wanted to make her his. This time he has just gone a little too far.”
This is not the only pop song investigated by authorities. Steven Tyler was questioned regarding the licence for Janie’s gun.
