A woman’s courageous battle against cancer was cut short due to a speedy recovery, hospital doctors reported yesterday.
“She’s healing quicker than expected,” explained Dr. Teeple of his patient, Marianna Knight, 38. “If [Knight] is lucky, she might stretch out the recovery for one more week, but probably not long enough to be considered heroic. She’ll have to return to work and face her colleagues without an inspiring story to tell. It’s unfortunate, but it happens.”
Knight’s daughter, Helene, 8, expressed relief, but remarked that her mom lost “serious cool points” by going into remission so quickly.
“My friend Becky’s mom went through two rounds of chemotherapy,” Helene said. “Compared to her, my mom’s pretty lame. Plus [Becky’s mom] makes better brownies.”
