WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump has issued a presidential pardon to the notorious serial killer Son of Sam after Trump discovered the murderer served for three years in the United States Army.
“The New York City Police Department treated hero David Berkowitz VERY POORLY!!!,” tweeted Trump. “The police department will NOT be taking away Warfighter David Berkowitz .44 calibre. This case was handled very badly from the beginning.”
Trump made the decision after watching an episode of Fox and Friends which appeared to be sympathetic to the man who plead guilty to murdering six people and wounding seven terrorizing New York City in the mid-1970s.
“Son of Sam was a killer, but that’s what he was trained to do serving this country,” said Fox and Friends co-host Pete Hegseth. “Mr. Berkowitz was innocently firing his gun when young lovers got in the way of his bullets. A brave man who received an honourable discharge should be able to discharge his weapon wherever he likes.”
Fellow co-hosts nodded their heads in agreement.
At press time, Trump also pardoned two turkeys he assumed were US Special Forces members accused of massacring an Iraqi village.
