NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has offered Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi a brand new Canadian-built LAV III to express his appreciation for the strong relationship between the two countries.
India’s reception to Trudeau’s visit has been lukewarm due to his perceived sympathy for an independent Sikh state, but the Canadian Prime Minister wants to strengthen diplomatic relations the only way he knows how: with an arms deal.
“As a sign of our continued friendship and peace between our nations, I am offering equipment that will help obliterate those who have neither a friendship or peace with India,” announced Trudeau showcasing the infantry fighting vehicle to the press. “But, as I have said before, this LAV can only be used for peaceful purposes that won’t violate anyone’s human rights, okay?”
Prime Minister Trudeau said that Canada is ready to bring its strong expertise in the arms industry given its experience in the Philippines and Saudi Arabia.
“I would also like to note how Canadian nuclear reactors and uranium played an important role in providing India with its peaceful weapons-grade plutonium,” added Trudeau.
According to sources, Prime Minister Modi has accepted Trudeau’s present, and will place it in gift storage beside the Russian MiG and a French anti-tank missile.
