LAUSANNE — The International Olympic Committee said it will be featuring the new herniated disc throw in both men and women’s categories.
“For millennia, athletes have practiced this ancient art of throwing out your back,” said IOC President Thomas Bach. “Even amateur enthusiasts compete in this most noble injury.”
Athletes will be judged on improper back lifts and twists in addition to the distance the disc bulges and pinches the nerve. Bonus points will be given to competitors who can herniate more than one disc at a time.
According to sources, the next IOC sport to be considered as a sport is lying on your back with your feet up endurance event.
