OTTAWA – Citizens are expressing boredom with the fact that Canada still has no cases of Ebola, a new report finds.
“It’s good that we’re safe but Canada news is so boring. Just like politics, nothing scary or horrific ever happens to us,” said Jen Sachian from Kamloops, BC.
“Every other country has been getting at least one case by now,” said university student James Lipton. “I mean, I’m happy to live in a relatively safe country, but I pretty much have to watch U.S. news exclusively if I want to get my fill of fear mongering and sensationalism.”
While 60% of the population doesn’t find Ebola news in Canada to be very exciting, the nation’s news organizations have been affected the most, with many journalists wishing they were getting the same kind of “action” as their colleagues situated in other parts of the world, according to the report.
“This is a real bummer for us,” said Sun News Network reporter Andy Pitchard. “The incubation period is 21 days though. Maybe by end of the month, a famous hockey player will get Ebola and our ratings will skyrocket? One can only hope, God forbid.”
At press time, Sun News was still holding out hope that a Canadian would be captured by ISIS.
