OTTAWA – Paul Calandra recited ingredients from his favourite squash soup recipe this morning after he was asked by NDP leader Tom Mulcair to give information about Canada’s deployment in Iraq.
“I use six cloves of garlic, nicely minced, to bring out the flavour of the squash,” Calandra said. “Only use a good quality olive oil. That’s the ticket. You’ll want to use a blender to get a nice creamy puree at the end,” he continued. When asked again for details on timing for the Iraq Mission, the Tory MP added, “Hey, I just want to give a holler to my friends at Danny’s Auto in Markham. Drop by for soup any time.”
At press time, “My secret, Mister Speaker? Coconut milk…”
