Producers for the upcoming Justin Trudeau biopic “Justin: our hero, our saviour, our next prime minister” have revealed that Ben Mulroney will be taking on the titular role.
At a press conference attended by the winners of So You Think You Can Dance Canada’s first and third seasons, producer Murph Levitt declared Mulroney to be “only man who can get to the core of what it means to be Justin Trudeau.”
“He understands what it’s like to be around government from a very young age without having any power,” Levitt added.
Mulroney is hoping that his first acting role will make people take him more seriously.
“I always wanted to be Prime Minister, obviously,” he admitted. “But then I grew up and discovered there was no Progressive Conservative party for me to inherit so I went into the talk show business. ETalk was as close I could get to having question period every day.”
Director Todd Clarke, whose previous titles include 2008’s “Iggy: not just visiting” and the 2006 classic “Stéphane Dion: leader, maybe, probably, definitely”, hailed “Mulroney as the rare performer who brings both Oedipal issues and lustrous hair to the table.”
“Ben had to be our Justin.”
