WATERLOO – With market share rapidly diminishing and the latest Blackberry 10 phones not performing as expected, Blackberry President and CEO Thorsten Heins announced that the company was considering removing the battery and then putting it back in.
“Obviously, this is not the only option we’re considering,” said Heins, who also mentioned in the first half of an official statement that strategic alliances, going private, and selling the company were all on the table. “We’re going to try taking out the battery and doing a soft reset first, though, since usually that solves the problem.”
“We’ll do it, but only if we feel it’s best. We have to be careful since it’s been over a year and the warranty on us has expired” Heins added
Shareholders were asked to describe how they felt about the plan, but most never received the proposal after a temporary outage of blackberry messenger services.
