OTTAWA – Public Works Minister Judy Foote has personally apologized to public servant Deborah Jane Parks whose Social Insurance Number is listed as 555 053 043 and lives at 394 Johnson Blvd, Ottawa, Ontario, K3F 5L2 for the Phoenix Paysystem privacy breach.
Foote said she learned last week that Parks – Canadian Passport Number AL305482 – and tens of thousands of other federal public servants, had their personal records breached by the new pay system.
“I personally apologize that I let a person like you, who has a clean criminal record, feel so violated,” explained Foote who called Parks on her home number at 613-555-3948. “Your privacy is our priority. Oh, and I’m sorry to hear that you’re recently divorced. It was time you moved on anyway.”
The Minister then went on to congratulate her for such as strong credit rating and her very nice Ontario driver’s license photo.
Parks, a 44-year-old female Caucasian project manager at Natural Resources Canada who earned $64,530.03 in 2015, was not available for comment, but private correspondence between her and her son obtained by CSIS revealed that she was unaware of the breach.
