WASHINGTON – The National Rifle Association is raising the alarm about knife-related violence in the American school system after a recent knife attack at a Pennsylvania high school.
“We are deeply disturbed about how our children are using these dangerous weapons” said NRA executive vice-president Wayne LaPierre. “This country needs greater knife control to keep our children safe, but the pro-knife lobby continues to push against legislation such as knife licensing and restricting the sale of high carbon, no-stain steel kitchen knives.”
According to the NRA, over 300 million Americans own at least one knife in their home and the US is a leading exporter of knives across the world.
“We are a country obsessed with the blade” said Texas Governor and former Republican Presidential candidate Rick Perry. “We need background checks, better police enforcement and overall, more stringent laws and regulations that work.”
Some NRA members are calling for a knife amnesty at police stations while others are demanding Congress implement complete ban on all knives.
“More knives are not the solution this problem, guns are” LaPierre concluded before revealing his golden plated AR-15 carbine.
